I've decided to earn myself some extra pennies by tutoring (inspired by "Pay off your mortgage in 2 years"). But I need to write the ad. What about this:

Tutor available

I am an excellent teacher, Oxford degree, and experience in teaching in inner and outer London as a class teacher, trainer and head of maths. I have vacancies for a small number of evening tutees, for a series of sessions or one offs. For £25 an hour I can help you catch up, understand difficult concepts, design and follow a revision schedule, learn how to maximise your lessons and homework.
Maths (up to GCSE), History (all levels), Study Skills, Thinking Skills
Call blah blah blah

I' would take out the 'I's and make it look more like you are part of a tutorial collage IYSWIM?

Small number of vacancies available with an Oxford Educated teacher (rated excelent by ofsead). Maximise your learning potential, individual needs catered for, maths to...etc

fisil · 16/02/2006 09:10

just one thing, I was actually a v good from Ofsted (but I reckon that if I had let the inspector come to the first half of my lesson and the 2nd half of my colleagues as she planned it would have been the other way round, but I used my leadership skills and ...). So should I put very good instead?

popsy, do your lo's go to bed early, like mine? I thought about this when reading your other thread. A couple of students a week - £200 a month!

They are in bed by 7...

but i would probably have to do tea time sessions - given the ages I teach...

fisil · 16/02/2006 15:49

So how would that work popsy? Would they come to your house or would you go to theirs? And what would happen with your children?

As a recent consumer of tutoring services, could I suggest you play on the fear of God in the hearts of parents - by saying you can help get children through exams - 11 plus entrance exams, GCSEs, etc. Unless you're ethically against overt cramming.
