I am going back in two weeks and i am looking fwd to it- i worked very hard for my job and i love it and cant wait to go back- but i am feeling guilty because my son has to go into nursery.

Anyone feel guilty for wanting to work? I liked maternity leave, but at times i got very bored.

i dont know how anyone can stay at home and look after their kids.....i admire anyone who does it

I am looking forward to having my salary again!

This is my first week back, I had to come back full time as there is nothing available part time. I took the full year of mat leave and have loved it! I started on Tuesday and was a gibbering wreck on Monday, but my sister has DD for Tuesdays and Wednesdays and they've had a ball, which made leaving her with the child minder today alot easier. Getting up early is the real shock, and whatever's left of the salary once the childminder is paid will come in more than handy. I don't feel guilty, but it is a means to an end (putting food on the table, paying bills) rather than an end in itself.

Yup- me. I need some of myself back, need to use my brain again, and have battled with guilt feelings for ages before finally accepting that not wanting to stay home all day every day, doesn't make me a bad mum. Naturally now that my year off after my second mat leave is drawing to an end, things are wonderful and I'm starting to worry about leaving my amazing children.

Didn't conclude that very well.... So, in conclusion (!) I just don't think I'm cut out to be stay at home material. I adore my babies but kind of hate the daily drudgery of domestic chores. I love our activities and spending time with them but am bored of the baby-talk from the other mums. I'd rather work, be me, afford a cleaner, then come home and be a mum!
