Paternity leave and bank holidays

Im due on the 23rd of may.
The 4 and 5th of June are bank hols.
If those two bank hols fall during the paternity leave, would my DP be able to take two extra days off to compensate?
I was late for my two previous DCs so I'm assuming I will be again...
And I really could do with DP helping an extra two days!!
Anyone knows?
Thank

From my experience (had DD just before Christmas) unfortuntely not - DH was told they would be included so he took some holiday and then took 2 weks paternity leave after the BH instead.

I had my first child a few days before Christmas, and the 3 bankholidays which fell into the paternity leave were tagged onto the end (plus my husband was encouraged to take another couple of days of, so we had 3 weeks in total together at home.

from googling it seems that they are either paid in due or you have an extra day off in lieu....

Depends entirely what his contract says about bank holidays and how much holiday he gets in total.

i think he gets 25 days + bank hols
what should he look for in his contract?

The wording about bank holidays, and what total leave entitlement he has. The statutory minimum for someone working 5 days a week is 28 days, so if someone gets 20 days + bank holidays they need to get those days to meet minimum requirements. If bank holidays are all or partially on top of the statutory minimum, then the contract comes into play. He is entitled to his benefits during paternity leave including contractual leave entitlement.

Will check - thank you!
