I have 3 ds, and the youngest is little (under a year). I have been a SAHM for 7 years and to be honest I'm bored. I don't have to work for financial reasons (and I know I'm really lucky in being able to say that). My OH works really long hours, so I need to be the primary carer, but I want to do something else that doesn't involves nappies! OH and I have agreed I need something else going on, and can afford one day's child care. But, what? Where do I start? Any ideas?!!!

I always get loads of ideas from Woman & Home magazine & their online forums. They have sections specifically about women starting up new ventures or new jobs. Since money isn't really an issue, i think you should think about what you enjoy doing & see if there is a work equivalent, I'd you know what I mean.

Clare40 - nothing helpful to add, I'm afraid, but watching your thread with interest as in a similar-ish situation!

Have you thought about volunteering? Do you want to work with kids? I spent a term at my kids' school, volunteering as a TA one day a week. (I was a childminder 3 days a week.) I absolutely loved it, best day of the week - but like CMing, not flexible in terms of time off to go on school trips, sports days etc, and that's very important to me, as DH has very inflexible job. While I try and figure what I want to do, I'm looking at being a 'Homestart' volunteer - esp if I can take DC3 with me after she arrives. Maybe a bit like you - after 8 years of coffees and toddler groups, I just can't face any more, and need something more structured a couple of days a week.

Good luck!
