Hello all, just a quick question. I've told my employer that my Dr has already offered to sign me off sick for SPD but I've been struglgling on so far. They've said that if I do go off sick that they can make me start my maternity leave at 29 weeks. I'm pretty sure this has changed to 36 weeks but they sought guidance and are a national company so would be surprised if they got this wrong. Am I right that it's 36 weeks or are there any exceptions?

Hello, quick update. I went to my Dr and he has signed me off work. I informed all the people I should have done and am at home resting which, whilst not getting rid of the pain, is really helping. I haven't heard a thing from my manager and HR has said they'll get back to me regarding enforcing the maternity leave as I sent them the links you all kindly provided.
I gave work my email address so Occ Health could contact me regarding organising a more supportive chair for me but havent heard a thing from anyone yet. I'm due to see the Dr again soon before going back to work but I'm worried that it sounds like nothings been done at work. I'm gonna try chasing Occ Health but what would you do?

I'd just chill - the ball is in their court. It's not up to you to chase them. They have the information, and they are making things worse by not acting on it. Leave them to it.

Thanks Detective, well I'll wait a few days to see if I hear anything first - I'm just worried about going back to work in the same conditions.
