I'm hoping someone with experience in HR/hiring people might be able to help!
I work in quite a niche industry and currently commute an hour to work and do odd shifts to fit in with childcare (evenings/weekends). This is ok for now, but once DC1 starts school in September I really want to stop working weekends.
There is a local company I've had my eye on for a while that does exactly the same kind of thing. They did advertise a full time post a few months ago but I didn't apply as I'd only just started my current job, plus full time isn't really an option for me at the moment.
I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to write a letter and send cv to this company, saying could they keep me in mind for any future positions, especially if they had any part time roles.
Should I send it by email, even though they only have a general info@... email address? I have discovered the name of the CEO of the company (not too hard, she's been in the local paper and is on Linkedin) - should I address it to her, or would that seem stalker-ish?
Also, they only ever seem to advertise jobs through an agency, would I be better to contact the agency direct?
What would make an ad-hoc inquiry stand out for you? Or do companies just put them straight in the bin anyway?
