The Wicked Witch at work

Hi everyone, I posted on here a couple of weeks back about my unsympathetic colelagues and how off they are with me when I've been off sick in this pregnancy. Well, I had to have time off for a sickness bug this week and arrived at the work entrance just after a colleague did- one that's been particularly malicious in the past (as well as had a lot of sick time herself). Anyway I took a deep breath, put on a brave face and said "Hello, how are you?" She looked at me in disgust before walking off cackling to herself! I was able to smile to myself as I had been expecting her to be off with me, although not quite that bad lol. I then went into the office and got on with my work while all the other women ignored me, I had a really productive first day back and actually got loads done! Its not so bad when you're expecting it :o

Does anyone else get this "warm welcome" from colleagues?!!

Yes I have- I rememebr your previous post. I'm so sorry you are facing all this rubbish at work. Those colleagues seem like right bullies and using school playground tactics. I used to have one colleague not in team but one floor who I used to say "hi" to just be polite and friendly. I used to get an icy stare back or sometimes the odd greeting. The moment I started having issues at work this colleague started being nice to me! So it seems she was jealous.

All I can say is do not greet this colleague. Do you have to? Just ignore...or pretend to be doing something else. they want to try and upset you. just keep chat to minimum and related to work. if they want to chat about something else, let them start it. In another team in my section, bunch of colleagues just make fun of and continually laugh at other staff. jus ignore them.

if possible try to go in earlier to work then them and leave earlier, have lunch outside jus away from them

Thanks fizzymilk, I guess I find it more amusing now than upsetting as its been going on so long. Plus I'm leaving soon (for good) so its not for much longer. It's so childish and pathetic though. I still greet her so if I do raise a grievance then I can show that I've still been reasonable and haven't treated her the same. I just keep my head down and get on with my work (well as much as you can when you're heavily pregnant and feeling like crap lol) Sorry you've experienced the same, I imagine its quite common. You can choose your friends but not your colleagues lol
