I think the GP will sign you off, and if they don't - then ask them to Smile

But - it sounds like if your work was more supportive then you would be able to stay? Who changed your job? Was it with your agreement? Might it be worth considering raising a grievance or speaking to your manager so that you can stay at work?

in fareness they offered me another job when i handedin my notice butit still required me to continue to do this one untill april and it would be full time and i have come to realise that full time work right now with dh working aswell is not what i want.
i tried to tell them it was all going wrong but i think because i have always come across as extremly capapble they just ignored me,
can i actually ask my doc to sign me off?

Yes of course you can. They can say no, of course, but I think they are mostly pretty sympathetic. My tip - cry a lot when you are there and they will be writing you a sick note before you can blink.

I have only had 2 sick notes in my life, one last year and one about 8/9yrs ago. I have never taken the piss, IYKWIM and they know how stressful things can be. I didn't have to ask, just had a fortnight off. It was like a huge weighted lifted off me though.

But if they are transferring you internally to another role I don't see how they would need you to work a notice period TBH?

Ah I see. I also left my job. I asked them to put me on unpaid leave for the rest of my notice period so that I didn't have to work it - and they did Smile But if they had said no I would have been off, on paid sick leave. I had just had enough.
