Opening a shop

Hi,

I'm contemplating opening a baby shop, I have a son who is now 16 months and I previously self employed. Since my Lil one I have been out of work by choice as I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. Anyway I want to open a shop but I don't want to put him in full time nursery 1: it's way to expensive and would defeat the object of getting back to working life 2: I think he should see me more than his careers!
Would it be a bad idea to have him in the shop with me from time to time? Do you think that would be bad business?

Hmmmm... If it's a baby shop, it wouldn't really seem too odd for a baby to be there. But do you think you can stay focused whilst your DS is around? What if he's crying and a customer requires help? Or the phone rings? I'm sure you know, there's obviously more to it than sitting around waiting for customers to come in! How will you work with your DS needing attention too?

Absolute no! A child running around while you serve customers, h&s, banking, telephone? Sounds like you have the idea of a shop just to overcome childcare issues. A shop in these climates? Maybe a on-line shop but have you given any thought to figures? A shop is a serious finanical committment have a look on the high street...see whats happening???????
