Unable to go back to work full time but want to do some work from home to top up the income. Any advice or ideas?
Happy to do packing envelopes or data input and have heard some stores like claires and accessorise sometimes send boxes of bits to be bundled and packed??
Help anyone

One of my friends has recently become an Usborne book seller, organising book parties.
She is making quite a bit in sales commissions and gets to socialise at the parties.

Do you have any hobbies / interests? Can you find a niche business opportunity based on these?

What are your strengths or skills? Can you use these to solve problems for other people?

Stuffing envelopes will only ever earn you a very basic income. I suggest you think more strategically about what you can offer the world!

You may need to brush up on skills that will help you market your business, but this should be relatively low cost.

Aim for a balance of Profits. Life.

As far as I am aware most stuffing envelope or data input jobs that are advertised are scams. If anyone asks you for money up front then certainly avoid.

Thanks guys, my hobbies are girly things like sewing, cake decorating, baking etc. i could get a portfolio of decorations together i suppose and try that out.

Cheers for ideas!!

I had exactly the same dilemma about 6 months ago then a friend introduced me to Stella and Dot. I am having such an amazing rime running my own business selling their beautiful jewellery, I am making money, have met some brilliant people and am still able to be a full time mum to my children.

Feel free to PM me if you want any more info. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, there are loads of opportunities out there, the key for me was to find something I really loved, it doesn't feel like work at all!!

Fergoose: If anyone asks you for money up front then certainly avoid.

This is certainly good advice if they are advertising a 'job' where you have to pay a regsitration fee, but be careful not to get put off genuine 'working from home' businesses such as Usborne Books, Phoenix Cards, Body Shop etc, because there IS an outlay for these but you will be starting your own business with these poducts.

It's worth checking out genuine work from home opportunities on the Direct Selling Association's website.

Hi there

I am a mum of a toddler and work part time as a project manager for Roots Research.

We run and manage a variety of different research events, you may be invited to review the latest mobile phone, try out the latest perfume or you could be asked to share your views on the latest cooking ingredients. This is paid research and participants can earn anything between £50 - £150 for up to two hours!

I know from personal experience that this is a great, flexible way to earn extra cash in your own time and it therefore is very popular and successful with busy mums and busy dads.

Sign up today and get paid for your opinions - please feel free to ask any questions.

I have been doing Phoenix Trading for the last two years as a top-up to my other part time job. I really enjoy it and it's completely flexible with no targets (unless you set them for yourself!). I'm really enjoying building a team and hope to make this my main source of income eventually. Hope you find something that suits you.
