What are the best days to work part time?

I'll be going back to work in September after taking a year's maternity leave. I want to go back part time and wondered if anyone had any opinions on which were the best days to do and why. Originally I thought about working Tues, Weds, Thurs so that I would have a long weekend. But now I'm wondering whether I should split that time up so that I'm not away from DS for three days at a time. What do other mums think?

I work Tues/Thurs/Fri

Reason is, don't like Mondays (& don't want my hols pro-rated to take in Bank Hols OR pay for childcare I'm not getting)

Take Wednesdays off as enjoy the break in the middle of the week.

Thursday is my busy day, then just one day to the weekend....yeeeeeha !!

I join the tues to thurs crowd too- it's a hard and tiring slog for three days but we all get the weekend together and I get to maintain my favourite toddler grps on a mon and fri and also drinks with the girls on a friday night.

kids only have two long days at cm's (8am to 5pm)and have a weekday with dh and two weekdays with me. it works out well, except when the family want to visit and you'd rather do the washing and ironing!
