Stuck in a rut - need some career advice

I fell into my line of work - purchasing - almost by accident. I studied Languages at university and started a job in Purchasing but using my languages. Over the years and with a few job moves later, I no longer use my languages and the job is just Purchasing.

I'm good at what I do and on a day to day basis,I do derive some satisfaction from it but my heart's not in it really and it isn't what I envisaged myself doing. I don't want to have regrets later in life.

I love travel, different cultures, learning languages (although my original ones are bit rusty now), have a good eye for detail. But I'm so stuck in a rut that I can't decide what I'd like to do.

Can anyone suggest a career change for me? I just don't know where to start.

You could do TEfl abroad. Also Executive Assistant in an international co may involve travel Your old UNI careers advice may be able to help Bear inmid though that languages alone do not pay well. Foreign office? I think there are agencies recruiting staff with langs -have a look. The best jobs I heard of were with international law firms but competitive. Places like Hong Kong, Singapore may have purchasing jobs thus also allowing you to travel cheaply to neighbouring countries in your hols
