Hiya
Posted a thread a little while ago, anyway on AML for Jan applied to go back to work part time thro flexible working application, refused so did my appeal letter last week, the thing is everything is being done ever so formal, every other woman in the company has been given part time hours in their old job or found an alternative, the way they are with me is really weird and i've worked for the company for 7yrs its really beginning to get me down now, and even if they do offer me another role somewhere else its cutting it fine to get my child into nursery, got the reservation but they do get busy and places are limited, what i want to know is if this goes down the appeal route and it extends past january where do I stand, am I still employed by the company or what, I'm beginning to feel so down that I want to go on the sick, I feel like i'm being forced out, there is no line of communication between myself and work, i've phoned them but no one has got back to me, said to dh last night that any female doing my job is always going to be refused part time hours coz of the nature of the work is this discrimination? really wanted to enjoy this month with my dd but its being overshadowed by this as its almost always on my mind to top it off she has a few hospital appt over the next couple of months and am worried about her, she has congenial stridor (floppy larnyx which affects her feeding) we are being referred to a specialist and we also have to see a dietitian, thanks for letting me moan

What is it you do? Why would any woman doing your job be refused part-time? Would they offer part-time to a man?

Keep a diary of all attempts at communication with the company and their response (or lack of it).

I've been in a similar situation as you and got legal advice. First, you need to make sure that you record everything and correspondence with them is in writing.
