Back to work with a bang!

I'm going back to work for the first time in almost a year and I'm a bit nervous.

Long story, here goes. I went back to work when ds was 6 months old but I had been off sick for a few months until finally throwing in the towel and resigning in September. In that time I left my partner, and ds (2.3yrs) and I moved back 'down south' to live with my mum. I've just got a new job through a temp agency, starting on Tuesday. It's the constant feeling of being the 'new girl' when you work for an agency and it's a big step towards total independance for ds and me. Next step is for ds and me to get a house of our own!

I'm just anxious, about leaving ds, about starting a new job, about falling flat on my face, about everything really. Any words of advice or wisdom??

Don't worry, it sounds like a good opportunity for a fresh start, to get your life back on track. I think you should be very proud of yourself - go in there with confidence!

Good luck tomorrow! It'll be a time of adjustment but I bet in a very short time you'll have settled in well and won't look back!

Goodluck!!!!

There is no reason that you will fall flat on your face, have some confidence in yourself, you certainly deserve to! !

I suppose you're at work now. Hope all goes well.

IME temping is a really great wayof getting experience of different companies and working environments. Think what you'll be ablt to add to your CV after a couple of months. And you'll meet lots of different people, opening up all sorts of work and social possiblities.

It might seem strange at first, but IME temping it is very confidence boosting because you learn a lot in a short time. If, during that time you temp, you do find yourself in a dud job, at least you know you can phone up the agency, ask for another and move on.

Another good thing is, however much your working life changes from day to day, you are staying with your mum, so have a good stable home to come back to each evening.

Hope all works out for you!
