I'm thinking of applying for a job that is 21.6 hours a week and am trying to work out what the pro ratered rate would be!
Is it 37 or 39 hours? I've tried googling but only got confused answers!

Thanks, this would be with an LEA, for a job connected to teaching but not a school based job. Do you think it's the same? I shall assume so!

I'm LA it's 37 for us but schools are 32.5

Looks to me that its a 0.6 job.

I was a benefits advisor until September and always worked with the premise that 30 hours or over is full time.

Thanks all. 0.6 would make sense, now have to work out how those hours split up over the week and work up courage to go for it!

Thank you. I have rung, am waiting for them to return the call. I just didn't want to look to unprofessional. It's been 6 years since I last worked!

make sure you sound keen about the job and perhaps ask something about what it involves as well as the hours - hardly anyone ever rings up and asks questions so it can be plus point in your favour

adamschic · 14/10/2011 22:25

30 hours a week is considered full time but for your purposes I would say anything from 35 to 40 hours a week. So you need to ring and ask. Also factor in if they pay for lunch hours or not.

X post see you have rang.
