Thinking of starting a massage course..In two minds!

Hi there!
I'm qualified in beauty therapy(8 years ago) and didn't finish the second year.
So to be a qualified massage therapist I'd have to do the course from scratch.
The course started 3 weeks ago and is every wednesday evening.
It's called Swedish massage course and I need to decide amd pay a deposit today if I want to go ahead(as can't afford to miss another week!)
Just wondered if any mn's have done this course and are you pleased you did it?
Also any mobile therapists who get business?Do people have mobile therapists come round their homes for massages?
I live near Woodford/Loughton/Chigwell way in a very normal modest kind of house(still needs work doing to it and decorating etc!)and don't have a spare room for a 'treatment type room' but do have 3 bedrooms-have 2 dc they have a room each.Don't know whether I could have a massage bed set up in my bedroom or would that seem a little weird?
Also spoke to a family friend about this course and he said that people could think I'm a visiting escort woman and also that if I did get clients how would I know I'm safe visiting their homes?
Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Not a therapist so cannot offer that advice...but I do live near you. So you don't currently do any beauty treatments?

For massages, I have been to both people's spare rooms and also treatment rooms. Are there any hairdressers near you that have treatment rooms? I have known a couple of thearpists who use them. They just rent the room and are in charge of their own clients.

I think there is a market - especially where we live - but you need to take into account the cost and time of travelling to people.

I have typically paid £20 - £25 for half an hour back and shoulder massage.

If you have been thinking about this for a while and can do the course, then I'd say go for it...

Have you checked out this forum healthypages ? Lots of therapists there to ask advise about massage work. I'm thinking of doing holistic massage course next year and have found lots of useful info from that site. Swedish massage/holistic massage are good base if you thinking of taking this further - like going into pregnancy massage, sports massage or anything like that.

I know someone who does sports massage from home and she seems pretty busy
