I do web editing/design for a large organisation and a charity - works quite well. I also do some training for the large organisation. I work p/t as well for another large organisation, so was able to transfer some of the skills that I've built up there to the 2 contracts.

If you have admin experience then you'd probably be great at web stuff! Good luck, I hope you get something Smile

Hi thespellers. I do Phoenix Trading alongside another part-time job. It is worthwhile and lots of fun. My main job is admin and I find it quite helpful with the Phoenix stuff.

Hi thespellers! I do FM perfume. In 25 years of trying to supplement my income whilst juggling other commitments, I've tried ALL the work from home stuff, selling from catalogues (won't name any names as they all have their good and bad bits) and trying to get parties. FM is definitely the best. Feel free to message me for information.

Hello I'm kinda in the same boat, I really need a job where I can stay with Lo but still earn some money. Did contact a catalogue company but would rather do something else. It is hard though. I can't really advise u much as I'm struggling myself but Goodluck. Xx

I'm a independent Usborne books at home organiser.I've done this 12months and love it

veryconfusedatthemoment · 27/09/2011 19:35

I've done Usborne for 2 1/2 years. The reason I started it was precisely the OP reason- to fit in around school hours. It does this pretty well. I have top up help in the evenings and weekends from husband, mum and babysitter. I like the seasonality so I tend to be busy now and then only at certain other times in the year.

Hello, I'm at home with my youngest and wasn't at all sure what to do. I just couldn't face the whole 40 hour week stuck in an office life... leaving my children all day with someone else.

A friend introduced me to an amazing network marketing company and now I work flexible hours from home and really do have the family life I wanted. The sky's the limit really..... all the training is provided, with the team, with the company, on-line...fantastic - I'd definitely recommend it.

I'd say to anyone find a successful and established network marketing company who have a proven track record and a great product. Do your research, buy the product and try it, you need to like it !! Check out the training and support, if they have the Investors in People award then this is a great start... look at how you get paid, will it give you an income even when you're not working and a residual (pension-style) income ?

Speak to other people in the company and listen to how they got started....then just go for it.......what have you got to lose ???? You will look back and wonder why no-one ever explained network marketing to you before!!

How would I get into the Usbourne books at home?
does it provide a good income?

veryconfusedatthemoment · 03/10/2011 00:56

hi birchykel, joining Usborne is really easy. You pay £38 for a starter pack which includes approx £140 of books and stationery. You join a team- you can either be allocated one at random or join a team of some one you know. You sign a contact with Usborne, but are self-employed. Your only financial obligation is to place 1 order of at least £100 within 1st 12 weeks. It takes time to build a new business and it definitely depends on how much effort you put in. But you earn 24% as a minimum for every book you sell. I work part-time for childcare reasons and am fairly low key about it in the 1st 6 months of the year. Feel free to email me with any other questions - [email protected]

Have you tried peopleperhour.com? Sometimes they have good freelance stuff.

Or find something niche to sell on ebay or etsy.
