Hi there,
Does anyone have any tips on applying for an internal promotion at work? A job's just been advertised that I'd really really like to go for. To be honest, I hoped they'd want me for this job anyway and I'm quite disappointed it's being advertised externally (we're private sector). But now it is, I want to do my best to submit a brilliant application and try to make sure I get it!
Does anyone have any advice on applying for a job like this? I'm writing an application letter at the moment and putting in lots of things, most of which they already know about me, which I assume is the correct way to go about it. I'm also slightly worried that one of the interview panel (who is a specialist in my field), has some very odd/old fashioned ideas about our job and I'm worried about putting something that although I (and other people) would think was a positive thing, he won't agree and will dismiss my application.
The job is a managerial role, in the same profession I'm in now. So I'm trying to focus on how I've demonstrated management skills in the past. I'd appreciate any advice! Don't want to put what field I'm in as it would make me quite identifiable.
