Motivation during notice period

I have resigned from my job and now am working a LONG notice period! I still have tasks to do where other people depend on me, they are intellectually demanding and they are public enough that if I make a mess of them, it will be noticed by a good number of colleagues and my boss. My problem is that I'm finding it so hard to motivate myself. I'm leaving because I've completely lost my self-confidence at work and because I hate the work (probably a bi-product of the loss of self-confidence). Does anyone know any tricks I can use or can give me any advice to get myself to keep myself concentrated and do a good job for these last few months? I do want as good a reference from my boss as I can get!
Thanks!

This is why long notice periods are bad for employers. An employee has already psychologically left when they hand in their notice and you're not going to be getting their total dedication as a result. Is there any way to negotiate a shorter one?

Saving that, build in fun parts to your day, turn down as much work as you can (very politely e.g. I think so and so would be more suitable as they will be able to continue with this project). Also start to hand over as much as you can so that people get the idea that you're not there. Then arrange lots of lunchs!

Thanks! That's good advice!
