If the company uphold my grievance, (I have now resigned because the i couldnt face more of the same treatment so dont work there but my position is still vacant i gather), whats the best that can come out of it if they dont want me to go to tribunal? What is the least they can get away with offering me?

Does anyone have any experience on this?

I'm not sure as grievances often tend to be more about resolving issues rather than financial recompense. Your ex-employer may therefore offer to reinstate you alongside sorting out the problems you encountered. Alternatively, your employer may offer a Compromise Agreement (a financial payment in return for your agreement not to go to Tribunal on partiucular grounds). If this is the case you will need soe sort of professional advice (although it isn't unusual for an employer to pay when it comes to setting up compromise agreements).

You perhaps need to think about what you want from the process - do you have some options of things that your employer could do to resolve the issues you are raising?

Im not averse to going back to my old job but i wouldnt want to work for the same line manager again. I cant see him being moved on or got rid of on the basis of my complaint (even though i dont believe they can dispute it). Im not looking for compensation as such.

And im certainly not going grievance just to get money. But if they cant get me back in my old job or a job on the same pay without working for him then i would want some money for the trouble IYSWIM.

My DB's g/f is helping me a bit - she is a trainee solicitor.
