pregnancy at work - sales rep

I was wondering if anyone has any info on pregnancy whilst working as a sales rep. I am required to travel 100's of miles per week although am based from home and wondered, when pregnant and driving becomes uncomfortable , is it viable to request to work soley from home and not do visits - sell using the phone etc?
what is the norm in this situation? do people normally carry on driving till they are due??

( not expecting yet- curious as planning what to do and whther being pregnant is going to work in my current role ..) :s

Appreciate any advice/help

Not a rep but I did have to regularly drive 200+ miles in a day. I found this to be fine until I gave up at 36 weeks. It just depends how you feel. I had a cushion in the car for the small of my back which helped for comfort.

Needing to wee was the only real issue!

Hopefully you have a sensible manager and can discuss with them.

There are probably some legal regulations that can help you out, but not an expert.

Thanks.
im just not sure what the norm is in this situation and also how uncomfortable it is driving miles when heavily pregnant. i get leg ache as it is when i have been driving all day let alone if i was expecting.

I agree with you on the toilet breaks. never a petrol station when you need one!!:)

AFAIK if its a pregnancy related issue they have got to either accomodate what you need or give you paid time at home, however you would need a dr's note for this - I'm sure dr would give you this if you explained your circumstances, however if this was within 4 weeks of your due date your work can make you start your mat leave early. I don't drive as part of my job so no experience of such regular long drives while pregnant but I found it became uncomfortable to drive about 2 months before I gave birth, and virtually impossible from about 1 month before but I had put on a LOT of weight and also had sciatica due to baby pressing on a nerve. I wouldn't worry about it yet, and see how you get on.
