Would you mention you were on maternity leave/have a baby at an interview?

not unless asked, and only then frame it around something positive e.g. had a break with little one, now looking forward to getting back into it, looking forward to diving back into working with your colleagues again, besides which I might even mention the solid/reliable childcare i'd arranged as well (since they're unlikely to risk asking such obvious questions but it may still be a worry to them).

whatever happened i'd keep mention of it brief, and turn the conversation around into a positive reinforcement that you're motivated to the role you're applying for :)

I did, in every single one.

But, that is because I work in recruitment, an area where it is standard to call clients/candidates in the evenings, and work late. I don't want to be offered a job that I can't do, or mislead them about my availability, because I certainly won't be in the office until 8pm every night.

I think it did, perhaps, put a couple of the interviewers off but in those cases, they were companies where it is standard to work very late. In which case, it's the right decision (from their end) for me NOT to work there or waste our time with another interview.

So yes, I would mention it, depending on the sort of job you're going for. A couple of my interviewers asked other questions around it once I mentioned it, but not in an aggressive or disappointed way at all. Actually, I used my DS as an answer in the 'motivation' questions, which they liked!
