Online numeracy/verbal reasoning tests - any recommendations?

Dh was made redundant last year and struggled to get another job at the same level. He's currently working for minimum wage + variable bonus and getting really depressed with life (although glad to be in work at all).

Anyway, he went in to see an agency before his late shift this morning and was sent to replace a last minute cancellation interviewee for a job that was pretty similar to his last one so right skill set etc. Basically had just enough time to get across town for the interview so was pretty wound up.

Interview went really well....but screwed up the follow up tests: verbal reasoning & numeracy. Got mid 70s and needed over 90 to pass.

So, very despondent probably mostly nerves to blame but he hates sitting these tests at the best of times. Went into work feeling like a complete screw up Sad.

He's just had a text from the agency saying the client wants him to resit the tests!

That's a long winded way of asking do you know of any good sites that would let him practice these tests online? Probably not enough time to get a book as the resit will likely be the beginning of next week. He wants to be able to just do them over and over to hopefully get rid of the nerves and ace it second time around because it sounds like they are really interested and we really need this!

Doesn't need to be a free site - just reputable/useful.

I've dug out some links that I last used for practise before my last job interview, hope they help:

Kent University careers website - lots of different types of test
Numerical Reasoning test
SHL tests - one of the main test providers used by employers

Hope that helps. If the client wants him to resit the tests, sounds like he did really well at interview - good for him!

Check out sites like learndirect as well.

He also needs to look at his technique, for example does he linger too long trying to solve a particular problem which then eats into his time to work on the rest? These sites will have lots of hints and tips. Your local library may well have books relating to this topic; mine does.

Good luck to him :o

Oh thank you! Will pass these on.

Good idea about the library Bark. I'm not working tomorrow so will drop in and have a look (and take back ds's scarily overdue books as well Blush)
