Calculating A/L when P/T

OK - I can do P/T when they are with me for a whole year the calc is easy

But if someone is with me for part of the year, but not over a bank holiday period (ie start after Christmas) do I include that proportion of their leave in the leave calculation?

yes - pro rata annual leave + public hols over the year then pro rata again for the part year they'll be there. (That's how it works for me anyway)

So they would get Christmas bank holidays even though they started in January?

(Leave year is April - March)

Don't think of it being specific days, just pro rata. If someone full time gets 28 days in total (including bank holidays) then someone working (say) 3 days a week gets 28/5x3=17 days inc bank holidays in a full year.

If someone starts at the beginning of January presumably they would get 3 months worth of holiday for the rest of that holiday year until the end of March. So if their total year entitlement is 17 days, 3 months' worth would be 17/12x3=4.25.

Thanks
