Sorry this is going to be long...

3 years ago, I agreed for a company I owned to be acquired by a new owner so he could start doing the type of work my company was doing and for me to become one of their employees, leading this new area. At the time it was explained that it was politically unacceptable for me to be recruited into the company (~100 employees) in a senior position.

Over the last three years I have struggled to achieve cooperation from the existing work force. Th company owner has acknowledged this difficulty, but said he would not "tell then to cooperate" as it would upset his existing work force.

This all culminated in January, when I was removed from leading a project because the assigned team refused to complete tasks it was assigned. The company owner said words to the effect of "yes I know, it's been like this for 3 years. I don't know what to do,or how we move foward"

This week the owner recruited a new "Director" to take over the team.

Since my informal complain in January, despite claiming that he would "sort it over the next few days", the company owner has done nothing, not spoken to me, not emailed me,just ignored it. I think he hopes I have forgotten ...

I don't really know what to de next. I know there are grievance hearings but what will that achieve? Have I been constructively dismissed through lack of support? Is there any point in any of these in a small privately owned company, or should I just find a better job and then resign?

Thanks for reading, sorry it was so long

Its a tricky one. They don't seem to have handled it well. Were you paid for the company you owned or was it more of a freelance basis?

The company I owned proper limited company, with existing contracts etc. I exchanged this for options in the company "buying" and brought the existing contracts into my current employer.

If I resign, I will loose these, but such is life, annoying but water under the bridge now..
