Things are ot good for us financially at the moment with DH not being paid as his company aregoing under!:( i am currently on mat leave and am having to go back full time in 6 weeks (dd will be 25 weeks) i have had to apply for some evening work too so as to top up money. SO.... i applied for a tutoring job at the lcal college and got an interview!! i have never done any thing like this before (i work for social services) and am wondering if anyone can help with the interview prep! I have to do a 10 min micro teach?? on child development (conception - 16) does anyone have a plan i could look at for ideas...
I would be very grateful for any help! i seem to have lost my confidence a bit since having the baby!

Well done!

When is it for? What prep have you done?

Well.....very little truth be told! I have a 5 month old n a 2.5 ur old running around. Don't get much fine to prep. I have planned the 10 min lesson... Not sure if its right but will just have to wait n see.its in Friday at 4pm(stupid time). Its been so long since I did anything like this and I'm not good at interviews.

Try a bit of practice to someone who will listen and give you both +ve and -ve feedback about your technique. I'd suggest you think of why you match the job, and what you'd be bringing to it.

Dearch mumsnet for interview AND help, you'll find loads more tips.

Best of luck. Do let us know how it went.

To be brutally honest - you won't get the job unless you take the time to prep.

You need to find someone to help by looking after the children while you prep (your DH?), and someone to listen to you while you give the presentation to them, repeatedly, and who can give you feedback (your BF?).

Don't write the whole thing down on paper and read it out - go for notes on cards, like people do for wedding speeches.

Make sure you time the presentation and that it is 10 mins.

Pick 3 key reasons why they should give you the job, and make sure that you get those in as the answers to some of their questions.

Think about what questions you'd ask someone who wanted that job, and prepare answers for them.

Awesome news.

I am the only breadwinner here at the moment as my partner lost his job a year ago and we are really struggling at the moment as I work part time.

Always good to hear that someone does well. :)
