Going back to work fears..

Hi all, I am going back to work FT soon (not out of choice but due to finances). :(

I just worry about being away from my DS everyday.. will miss him so much! and worry that I will miss so much. It's so hard, we have such a nice daily routine and he seems such a happy baby.

We are lucky that he will be cared for by
family, which makes it a bit easier in some ways, but I can't help worrying how things will change.

Did anyone else have the same fears when going back to work??

It is totally normal to feel like this. I feel for you.

I went back (and still am) full time 15months ago.

It will be ok after a bit but I do suggest that you are prepared for it being hard and you not wanting to be at work for a while. I am not trying to sound negative but if you know you will feel like it, it might be easier to ride the waves.

I work with maternity returners at work- I see the key turning point to be 3months in- thats when you will start to get back into it.

Be patient with yourself and take it easy. Your son will be fine with family and you will enjoy him all the more when you see him

take it easy.

I am with you! Have taken all advice on board and keep thinking of how we can best spend our time on the weekends.. and the things that we can afford that we couldn't if I went back part time.. everything comes down to money :(
