freelance trainers?

anyone working as a freelance trainer with recommendations for new/different agencies to try for work? Don't have much work booked for April so trying to expand from my usual word of mouth networks.

and if so, would you mind saying what you ask for as a daily rate? Last agency gave £300 - £400 per day inc all expenses/costs but another was £150. So I'm not sure where to pitch at.

Thanks!

Who are you with right now? I can suggest a few to you who pay £300-£400 +exp.

Where in the country are you?

Overthemill - could you not market yourself directly to organisations if you don't already? Email newsletter etc. Flex your network, even set up your own training sessions?

Or is the training world mainly managed through freelance agencies? Or could you get on the books of a large training provider? I think some of them use freelancers.

When I was in my previous job I used to buy in staff training and would always prefer to work with an indivdual, although I appreciate a few sessions a year from indivdual orgs won't keep you going!

I have posted on here myself about peopleperhour.com as I am starting out as a freelancer. There are a few training jobs on there and unlike some of the jobs I have seen they look reasonably priced (ie not £5 on hour!).

Good luck.

Yep teenagers mostly though train primary teachers too- have degree in biology (with lots of reproductive physiology), PGCE in Biology and almost completed a masters in Sexual Health Education.

Most of my work is teacher ed at min but I got it all through word of mouth or being part of the main orgs in my field.

good niche market i guess, well done you!
am trying out the training providers you suggested, thanks!

Hello

For general soft skills I'd look at:

Brayleino
Reed
Freelance-Trainers.co.uk
TrainerBase
Hart Global

They all source freelance trainers - I'm a freelance Trainer/Consultant and have been used by these many times.

I'd say daily rate really varies at the moment for IT Training it's anything from 150 to 300 depending on the application, level and length of contract. For Soft Skills I'd say anything less than 300 is too low.

Hope this helps, PM me if you'd like further information or want to pass me your CV/Skillset so I can pass work to you if I get anything I can't do.
