Need quick help with Cover Letter for job position

DH is writing a cover letter for a job position which is in another part of the country. If her were to get the job he would serve 2 weeks notice at this current employer and then move into rented accomoadtion to take up this poition.

How does he say that in an attractive way that doesn't make the employer go 'no way' before considering him?

Really appreciate advice

I think he just needs to make it clear in the covering letter that he is not currently living in the area local to the job but would be happy to relocate in order to take up the position, should he be successful.

If anything I would imagine it would show that he is keen on the job itself (rather than just applying for all jobs within x miles, for example).

If he has any ties at all to the new area then it may be worth mentioning this, but if not then I shouldn't think he would need to make too much of a big deal out of it, it is probably more something that would be raised at interview?

I thought he should raise it in the cover letter in case they look at his address and disregard him for living too far away?

Should he leave it out?

He could mention it in passing but the employer is going to assume that he knows where the job is and has worked out a way to do it. I don't think he needs to go into detail about having looked at renting etc but I'm not a recruitment consultant!

If he is putting in a blurb about why he wants to do this particular role, perhaps he could spin it into that section to say that he is so convinced that he is the man for the role that he would be prepared to relocate to take it up?
