Full, clean driving licence required.....

I am thinking about applying for a job working in accounts/finance for a school. One of the 'essentials' in the person specification is a full, clean driving licence. I have a speeding conviction from 2008 so my licence isn't clean. Is it still worth applying?
I have only had one accident in nearly 20 years driving so I can't be that bad.

Full just means that you aren't likley to get a ban in the forseable future.

The 3 points from 2008 will already be "spent" and so no longer count.

your licence is clean so yes apply

Points stay on your license for four years.

However, I'd apply, but don't lie on the application form. If it says 'do you have a driving license' put 'yes'. Hopefully it wont' ask the 'clean' question.

It states clean driving licence. I may apply and state 'full licence'. Practically everyone around me has 3 points, lots of lovely country roads and lots of mobile police cameras.

I would say its still worth applying will just depend on what other candidates apply. Could count as a deciding point if theres nothing between you and someone else but if after interview they think you are their ideal employee can't see them letting 3 points get in the way.

Thanks, if they don't want me there will be plenty for them to choose from as I haven't worked for a long time so my experience isn't exactly current.

Now, I just need to work out who I could ask for references.
