Owed money- Small Claims Court, - what if they are a limited company?

Can anyone advise? I used the Small Claims Court years back to claim money re. a car prang.

This is different. I am freelance and the company which owes me money has financial problems. It's a 1-woman band . She has set herself up as a limited company- so does this mean her liability is limted and it's a waste of time trying to get the money owed ? ( not a fortune but £250 I could do with.)

If I go to court, what evidence do I need? All I have are emails, which cover the work done, and my invoices.

She has promised to pay ( that was over a week ago after several reminders) but hasn't. I have now given her a final reminder of 7 days.

Matters are slightly complicated due tothe ill health of one of her children but those of us who are owed money are not sure if this is a means to delay payment/ evoke sympathy- or if it is genuine.

I am in the same boat, although I'm currently owed £5k. I sent them a contract to sign but they never returned it and in the meantime I carried on working for them.

Typical, contract's in the post etc.

Not sure what to do.

Sorry, that's not much help is it!

Who owns the car? Her or the company.
If the company - small claims court. Her personal issues are not yours.
If her personally - ditto

A bloke would not geel sorry for the silly moo who had an accident. Why should a Mum?

sorry-Talkingpeace but the car prang was 30 years back-see my post. This is another issue of unpaid work. Not the same person.
