Beneficial to go from sole trader to limited company?

I'm a sole trader (writing business which is growing each year) and this current tax year I'll be earning around £25,000 - I've just read on a different thread (and my query is in there too but thought I'd start a new thread!) that being a limited company can save tax? How does it work?

Is it easy to set up at company or do you need someone to do it for you? I've heard from other sources that it can save money.

Any advice would help me please! Thanks!x

Chasing
and that is the real point
I deal with the disorganised twonks who deliver carrier bags of smelly receipts
and I'm happy at £40/hour because it fits around yoga, kids and housework.
When those clients focus and produce real businesses that need attention every week or month, I pass them on to former colleagues with more resources.
We both win. I do it in my spare tim but what I pass on is ready to roll
and I do not have to push my CPD out of my experience zone.

totally agree - and tbh I usually tell potential clients at that level that they could find something that suits their needs elsewhere, cheaper.
(and I tell them where elsewhere - ex colleague who is doing similar, who I know will do a good job, and who will also pass it on the other way).

I'd also be happy with £40ph - if that was what I was getting directly (less costs of course) and have considered it many many times.

Interesting thread this.

We need an accountant to all the bookkeeping and sorting and be pro active with what can be done here, and what can be done there.

This will be the last year we do the paperwork ourselves. Total nightmare. hundreds of receipts and paperwork. It's stopping us going out and getting more clients.

Want tobe able to dropp all the paperwork every month and they get on with it.

so we can concentrate on marketing and shooting.

We are a photographer. Corp tax/Inland rev/VAT and commission payments. Not much left at the end of the day.

Maybe life is better in New Zealand!
