Tax credits and term-time only work

Does anyone know how this works? I'm looking at a job where the hours are 18.75 hours, term-time only.

Would I have to change my details at each school holiday?

Or is the job not worth doing because over a whole year it wouldn't work out as more than 16 hours per week?

I'd be grateful if anyone knows.

Thank you.

You might be right. I think you need to work at least 16 hours per week to claim working tax credits, and this is worked out as an average over 12 months, so multiply 18.75 by the number of weeks at work. Then divide that total by 52 weeks to get the average over the whole year.

Saying that there are lots of other factors to take into account, including your total household income, savings, other earnings and benefits. There are also other tax credits that you might be eligible for.

Everyone's circumstances are different. The tax credits website has a user-friendly calculator to help you work things out.
