One minute presentation, Power point or not?

DD has to do a one minute presentation for a graduate job interview next week. Would the employer be expecting Power point? I assume not for such a short time, but she's not sure. Also, would it be good to give them a handout even if she doesn't do powerpoint?

I would phone and ask them. We generally ask on the invite to interview letter if they have to use power point.

God no!! Death by powerpoint. By all means take printouts and hand them out later if necessary, but for a one minute presentation? She should be able to get an idea across without the use of visual aids in that short time.

Thank you, it's always reassuring to have other people's opinions.

Depends what its about.

If she wants to show facts and figures possibly, but I would agree that a handout may be better

For a one minute presentation, I'd imagine that PP would be far more trouble than it's worth.

From what I remember when doing grad job interviews, it was mainly about 'can you speak for 1 minute rather than 5 when that's what you're asked for, can you stand up in front of a group of people without tugging at your hair / slouching / fiddling / giggling, can you speak reasonably clearly, can you make eye contact with those around the room'. I don't think I'd do a handout either, unless there are crucial figures / graphs, because it's going to take them 20 seconds or so to faff around looking at it.

Do tell her not to fiddle with her hair - I saw an otherwise very good presentation by a young woman the other day, who rather spoilt it by continually pushing her hair back. It got to the point where it was a little embarrassing, and it was potentially a very high status presentation.

A one minute presentation? Blimey, what can you say in one minute?
What's the presentation on? Agree that a powerpoint is probably too much for such a short time. Could she take in an object instead and base the presentation on that? It's always good practice to ask at the end if anyone has any questions.
