Are they all much of a muchness or are there any I should avoid/look into?

I am starting my own business, due to launch (if that's the word) in February but am starting to advertise for clients and take bookings etc.

I have looked at the Natwest one which looks very comprehensive but really, I don't know what I want in a business account so have no idea how to appraise them.

Any advice?

Dh chamged from Santander as he is a private music teacher so is paid a lot in cash. We like having a bank with a counter service.

who does your DH bank with now Santa?

I don't know if I will handle cash much. I expect some might pay me in cash but I hoping more for cheques or transfer.

I have no idea how much I will be paying in monthly. I am starting small but hope to grow as word spreads

I have two different partnerships that both bank with Natwest (we share a business advisor). If you maybe looking to borrow money for the business Natwest maybe a very good bet. We have some very good loan rates with them which despite several other institutions trying to beat they can not. Plus our business advisior is helping us put everything in place with no charge for 2 years time when we will need to borrow half a million.
As far as RBS is concerned be aware that the English business is being sold to Santander.

Another one with Santander here. No bank charges and great if your needs are simple (e.g. you can do everything online/phone, etc.).

But, IMO, the service becomes a little unstuck when you need a bit more. Like recently, I applied for an overdraft and was turned down. No dialogue, little explanation, and poor service when followed up.

But,other than that, it's been fine so far.
