Tax returns after JSA Joint claim

Does any one know what happens about declaring a JSA joint claim when doing tax returns?
Is there any way that the HMRC take in to account that my partner claimed for both me and him when on JSA?
When I do his tax returns it asks me to fill in how much taxable benefits he has claimed but half the money claimed was for me.

"The JSA paid is the taxable income of the person who makes the claim even if she or he receives extra benefit for their husband, wife, civil partner or as a couple."

See the foolowing HMRC page for clarification.
