I am having a terrible time at work...

....I have come back to find there isn't a job for me.

My manager harasses me daily saying that "we can't pay to sit around doing nothing" yet nobody is giving me any help.

I apply for internal vacancies and there are a large number of people before me, and my CV doesn't ever get considered.

They scrapped my job when I was on M/L and my colleagues were offered replacements but I wasn't even told. So now I am just desperately applying for anything I can see advertised internally and phoning contacts, but every door I knock on is shut.

Yes I am still getting paid but the pressure is immense and I am desperately unhappy. I am thinking of raising a grievance as I don't know where to turn.

Anyone has any experience of this?

I am so miserable!!!!

as far as i know it is illegal to get rid of your job and not provide you with something that is as similar as possible.

you have a right to return to your own role or if not possible then an equivalent role.

Yes and they keep ignoring my rights!!!

I will have to raise a grievance I think. Sadly there isn't anything else I can do.

thanks for the link! :o)

are you a member of a union? seek advice from your union rep. or CAB. definitely do not let this go on. tehy are ignoring your rights because you are letting them.

I have explained my rights to both my manager and HR and they have literally shouted me down.

So I guess I am now on last resort measures, as they are either extremely ignorant of the law, or trying it on.

Sadly I am not member of a union, but I have read the relevant articles of the law and should be able to make a good case for myself. If it comes to it, I could always get a lawyer, but hopefully they will see the light.....

ok so you have explained them, now you need to enforce them. tehy are not ignorant, they will be well aware of tehlaw regarding maternity rights. they are hoping you will just take it from them.

do you work full time? can you arrange to meet with CAB, they are free and should be able to advise you ion who to contact and what the grievance you need to raise actually is.

try reposting this in 'legal' and see if you get a better response as i am not totally sure of the exact protocol.
