Bump for you.

What sort of books are you writing? Dh has just started hence my interest in agents

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 01/10/2010 22:38

Thank you. I've written 4 younger children books (5-7) with alot more in the pipeline and have ideas for books for older children that I need to start once I get some funds Wink

It's alot harder looking for an agent then it is to write them.

OOh Good luck. Dh is writing non fiction but only just started properly though he has a few in the pipeline

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/10/2010 10:33

I have a yearbook that has a list of publishers and agents inside, there's loads of publishers for non-fiction books so he should get one of these, they sell them in Waterstones/WH Smiths, they are red. Called the Artists and writers yearbook and published by A&B (or something like this, I've loaned mine to another writer and an illustrator). Smile

Best of luck.

Different publisher? Thats great :) remember me being nice to you when you are a famous author Wink

My ambition for dh is to get him to the Hay festival so I can go in the VIP bit Blush

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 04/10/2010 13:46

There's a very small childrens publisher, they only started the company up last year so I've sent it to them. I'll remember everyone Smile
Festivals sound good.

How do you know that your work is any good? It could be dire and I'm living in lala land. (self doubt setting in now)

No idea but always worth trying!

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 05/10/2010 14:34

There's a writer who lives across the road with a couple of illustrators. He's been self publishing for a while because he doesn't want the big publishers taking a massive cut from his books. I may look into this, he and his housemates like the ideas in the books.

Still not heard anything today.
