Occupational Mat Pay in the NHS...

I know that SMP depends on what you earn 17-22 weeks. Is it the same for OMP in the NHS? I'm on mat leave and just found out I'm pregnant again and need to work out whether it would be worth me going back a few weeks early if this is the case. Thanks x

Could someone please spell it out to me? I am back from Mat leave, f/t at 14 wks.

Many Thanks

P.S thanks to some good help on here I completely grasp the SMP bit Wink, its just the NHS OMP bit I need help with.

Thanks, and sorry to hijack the post Smile

Your mat pay is based on your earnings in the 2 pay packets received before 15 weeks before EDD, eg the 2 before you hit 25 weeks, varies as to when payday falls etc. These paypackets are aggregated and divided by 8 weeks = weekly average. (You need to ensure any salary sacrifice schemes cease during this period eg childcare vouchers etc otherwise your pay will be affected).

You will then get:

8 weeks full average weekly pay - SMP + SMP, (iyswim)

18 weeks half average weekly pay + SMP,

13 weeks SMP only.

You can then take unpaid leave up to 52 weeks off.

You can do up to 10 KIT days and be paid for them while still receiving SMP.

Hope that helps.
