Redundancy advice

Name changed for this. Posted in chat also as that is busier.

I have been told at work they want rid of us (me and others with the same job spec). They say they cannot make us redundant as they have made a written undertaking not to make anyone redundant, They have said they will as a result do everything in their power to make sure we quit. They have already made changes. I am looking for a job but everyone knows what the jobs market is like. I can't just quit and raise myself and dc on £0 per month. What they are doing isn't legal is it? They are already making our life pretty hellish.

Have you got any of these statements in writing?
How long have you worked there?
What sort of thing are they doing/changing?

It sounds like an attempt at constructive dismissal.

Good grief, that is appalling! What industry do you work in?

Have they said this to a lot of people that can be witnesses for each other? I'd be tempted to have a solicitors letter drafted, if so, warning them of the implications of constructive dismissal and workplace bullying.

What they are doing is changing the goal posts of what is expected of us and the first we know is when we get told off. They set high targets then actively prevent us meeting them. Changing shifts with absolute minimum warning. changing to the most awkward shifts. Been told we are to work Christmas and New Year but won't specify the times we are to work so we can't make any plans.

They are all oral the admissions they want us to quit.

I have been there 18 months.

Write everything down, everything said and done and the date and time it happened, suggest to others in your office they do the same.

Do you have a written contract? If you do make sure you aware of what it says, if not then request one.
