Exit interviews and follow on

I recently switched jobs, and when I left my old one, I was not offered the chance to do an exit interview. When I got to the new one, I asked the advice people whether or not this was normal, and they said no, normally you should have one, so I contacted HR at my old employer, and they said I should send them an email.

Now, there were lots of reasons for me leaving my old job, but largely it was because my managers were bullying me and otherwise being completely useless (one is clueless about what she should be doing, treats her managees totally unequally - that is, one colleague and I were expected to do all the work while the others could fart about and do/not do whatever they wated). My email was then referred to the HR contact for my old team, who asked me to call her so she could ask further questions. I've tried getting hold of her for three days, and left messages, but there's no response.

In people's experience - does anything normally come out of this? My one colleague is also leaving and got granted an exit interview (which prompted me to ask), and is giving the same reasons, and also raised it to more senior management within the organisation. I don't hold out much hope, giving that the HR rep can't even be bothered to respond to calls/emails, when she wants me to answer questions.

It was the norm for people where I work to take part in an exit interview should they want to, it could be by email or in person with a member of HR. I'm not sure what happens now as we've been taken over by someone else.

Not sure but having been through several exit interviews myself I really wouldn't bother especially as they don't seem that interested. If you had a gripe would anyone really care and would they do anything about it once you'd left? I doubt it.

Save your energy for the new job. I'm sure it will be more appreciated.
