I am a mumsnetter trying to start a business selling my own designs of childrenswear for children aged 18 month - 3, and I would love some help researching my ideas.

If you would be able to spare the time to answer some simple questions below, I'd be very grateful, and if you're interested I am also looking for product testers, so if you would like to receive a free sample of my clothing to wear and report back on it, please let me know.

These questions are about colour in childrens clothes, were you buy and what might influence your choice. You can think about your child in particular or children in general.

My questions are:

Are there colours you wouldn't dress your child/children in? (Please indicate boy or girl)

Are there colours you would like to dress your child in but find it hard to find?

Do you choose to buy clothes on line for children?

What would be your average spend per garment for 'nice' clothes, something you might choose for an event where you wanted them to appear well dressed? (Even if they get covered in chocolate ice cream the moment your back is turned!)

Would you choose clothes that'grow' with your child, that would fit for a year or even longer?

Do you consider using fair trade suppliers when buying clothes?

Thank you for the time taken to answer these points, it's all about Mums helping Mums to get the products we want and need and to work in a way which lets us be mums too!

Do drop me a line or a note if you'd like to be a product tester!

I am probably not your target market as I have a limited budget for clothes.

Are there colours you wouldn't dress your child/children in?

(Girls)I am not fussy about colours as long as they are nice 'clean looking' shades, but avoid slogans like the plague.

Are there colours you would like to dress your child in but find it hard to find? No.

Do you choose to buy clothes on line for children? Yes, usually Ebay (half ethical/recycling, half bargain hunting).

What would be your average spend per garment for 'nice' clothes, something you might choose for an event where you wanted them to appear well dressed? (Even if they get covered in chocolate ice cream the moment your back is turned!) £30 for a special outfit but again I source second hand as these items are often good as new.

Would you choose clothes that'grow' with your child, that would fit for a year or even longer? I always buy dresses at least 1 size too big so they last 2 summers.

Do you consider using fair trade suppliers when buying clothes?
I would if thdey were more easily available and within my budget.

I would happily be a product tester, I have 2 girls age 7 and 8 who like to look fashionable but I like them to look like little girls- always a challenge.

Hi there
Please don't post on this thread any more - OP has used the requests section here so best to keep the replies there.
Thanks
