Appraisals & Maternity leave?

I'm going on maternity leave in 3 weeks. This works out at about 7 days left in work due to being p/t and taking leave. Potentially I'm not back until the end of September next year although I'm likely to be back earlier.
I have been askedto have my annual appraisal on Weds by which time I will only have 5 working days left.

What can they expect of me in terms of targets etc if I'm not planning on being in work for the next year?

I wouldn't expect much to be honest, just a review of how your performance has been, and possibly to discuss possible Keeping in Touch days?

You could still identify any training you want or need for your return.

And to wish you well with your Maternity Leave of course

Potentially not returning to exact job too as they are looking to reorganise (again) so would be same hobbit different team and totally different day to day work.

Person doing appraisal is my supervisor but has only done supervision with me once in the last 4 m due to sickness/ holidays and doesn't work on the same site as me.

They won't discuss anything work related with you. After all you could be gone for a year or more.

So they'll confirm.

a) when your leaving
b) when the baby is due to send you some flowers
c) when your back

Nothing much more really needs to be covered.

They have booked it for 2 hours! All the pg related stuff goes through my manager/HR supervisor has nothing to do with it!

I had my performance review shortly before starting maternity leave.

We went through my performance over the last year and then my objectives were just listed as "To be agreed on return to work". This way there are no objectives that you can fail to meet by not being there, and any changes to the business/ structure can be catered for easily when you go back.

Maybe they want the extra time because they haven't had much to do with you and feel they need to discuss things rather than just ticking boxes because they know you and your work.
