We are delighted to be announcing Woolly Hugs’ Easter Craft Sale to raise funds for the fabulous charity MIND.

MIND is a charity dedicated to supporting anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They offer sound information, advice and support to individuals, and also campaign tirelessly to raise public awareness and promote understanding of issues relating to mental health. To read more about the fantastic work they do, read on here.

“We’re here to make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.” MIND

We’d love to help them.

Here's how...
We are going to run an online Easter Craft sale in a very similar way to our successful Christmas craft fundraiser. All funds raised will be donated to MIND.

We'd love your help...
We are looking to make and sell small/lightweight Eastery/Spring/gorgeous items, sewn, crocheted, knitted, crafted, the how is up to you! To keep postage costs to a minimum we ask that ideally anything made can be sent on to a buyer in a Large envelope, which is 35cm by 25cm, no thicker than 2.5cm, 750g max. Or smaller obvs :)

Some suggestions for you but we are open to others

  • Easter decorations - chicks, eggs, sheeeeps, rabbits.
  • Easter/spring bunting
  • Brooches
  • Other Stuff???!!!

Last posting for crafts to be FRIDAY 28th MARCH Thanks
    Please PM for posting information.

If you’d like to contribute funds to help others craft, then we’d love to hear from you. Our paypal is [email protected] and make sure you add a contact name and note that it is for MIND.

The Sale itself will take place during the week beginning Monday 6th April, actual dates to be confirmed, it will be run through our Facebook page MNWoollyHugs. All details we will share on here, on FB and Twitter @MNWoollyHugs nearer the time.

Huge thanks once again. Fingers crossed this will be a great success and we can help the lovely folk at MIND help even more lovely folk.

Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

Bold bunnies!!

Pomegranate like the camellia flowers which will soon be here, violet like my crocuses, turquoise like the sky (getting carried away) and yellow, um. Like daffs.

Actually not sure about the yellow. I never am tbh.

Peskies to sort. Not as bad as it looks as centre one already woven in. Just needs snipping off.

Morning by the way :)

I'm so glad you posted that! I have made about a dozen flowers for a garland in muted spring colours and DD has said she wants it! So I have another set of flowers on the go, and they are stronger colours, like your bright bunnies. There is always the danger that the other DC will claim the bright flowers and I send you just 3 daffodils and a donation!

Do you reckon these little flowers could garland? And anyone a style craft colour whizz and able to tell me what would be good? I have a small stash - thinking of citron, fondant, aspen and wisteria? But I can always buy more...

I do reckon, Nom.
I have gone a little overboard on mine and added another layer or two of different colours behind that first set.

There are 2 ways to do this (that I xan think of, but probably more).

1.
When making your first layer of petals, first make a round of sc into the chained ring. Then make the first inner/upper round of petals into the front part of the sc only.
To make the scond layer, use the other part of the sc stitch behind (have front facing). Use bigger stitches for the second set of stitches.

Sc between petals and chain (3, 4 or 5 to make a straight line that doesnt pull the petals out of shape). Sc between next petals etc all the way around. Then, front facing, make your second layer of petals behind, with longer stitches than used in front.

As for stylecraft colours, can't think of the names but if you keep them all pale you could get a full pale green/pale turquoise/light blues and purples/lemon yellows/apricot and peach/pinks etc.

Nom, I like aster, spring green, soft rose saffron and meadow. Although I have about 30 of the stylecraft colours. What were you thinking and I can put some samples together for you

It's more working from what I've got...

I have bright pink, fondant, aspen, green, teal, cloud blue, aster, bluebell, lavender, wisteria, violet, emperor, burgundy, plum, grape, pale rose, clematis, pomegranate, raspberry, claret, claret, copper, camel, mocha, parchment, white, lemon and citron.

Obvs some of those are not suitable... I could probably stash a few more balls in my chest.

GlaikitFizzog · 04/03/2014 18:46

large chest Nom?

Pomegranate and emperor are lovely together. Pale rose is nice too. Any of your pinks and purples would be fine
