RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2012 14:10

All PMs replied to - lots more squares ready to be posted! Excellent! Thanks

DutchOma · 15/03/2012 14:11

Still no parcel from Fingers and Thumbs in spite of the fact that they promised on Monday to send it asap. In fairness that was after the post had gone and also it was probably because I had made a mistake with my PayPal payment. But a parcel sent on Tuesday surely should be there by Thursday?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2012 14:38

Oma - how frustrating Sad I'm so sorry, and yes it should have arrived. Have you received a dispatch email from them?

2andout · 15/03/2012 16:20

Hi all, just marking my place. Sounds like everyone's been knitting up a storm! I don't know the MN name of the crafter I sent wool to, but I trust I would have heard if it hadn't arrived? I ordered from Cucumber Patch & gather there've been a couple of issues....

KnottyLocks · 15/03/2012 17:01

2andout, if Pistey matched you, PM her and she should be able to tell you if your wool arrived. Thanks.

If my donor has read this far - one ball of navy and one of silver from Cucumber Patch - there are some pictures on my profile. I'm happy for them the know who I am and to say thank you properly Thanks

I posted on the previous thread, but it probably got lost in the cake Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2012 18:15

Pidj - I have PMd your lovely donor to let her know that the pics of your joint squares are on your profile.

and 2andout - - I have sent a message to your crafter as I realise I haven't heard. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back, but like you I trust we would have heard if it hadn't arrived yet.

Thanks

Dear proper-knitters,

I am not very good at this but I am trying.

I am doing one square in moss stitch and it is half done ... When I come to cast off, do I have to cast off IN moss stitch? So k1, p1, first stitch over second and off needle, k1 first stitch over second and off needle, p1 first stitch over second and off needle etc?

Or can I cast off in knit stitch ...?

Simple squares are GOOD. Simple squares are ESSENTIAL....

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2012 19:16

Learning today that wool has arrived from the lovely donors

Thanks Faverolles, in fact your squares have arrived at Knotty's too. Smile

Thanks 2andout, yes, all safely received.

But still waiting on some Cucumberpatch orders unfortunately...

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2012 19:17

Rosie - I would imagine you can cast off in knit stitch, but then I'm not a proper-knitter Grin

tribpot · 15/03/2012 19:18

RedRosie - yes, you should cast off in moss stitch, although as the edge will be crocheted it won't matter very much if you just knit the cast off :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/03/2012 19:20

2andout You have mail Thanks

RedRosie · 15/03/2012 19:23

Thank you both. I think its safest if I cast off in knit stitch.

If I get this one done I might have a go at the one-colour heart upthread - I think it was just combinations of knit and perl? I can do those ... Well, after a fashion.

KnottyLocks · 15/03/2012 19:32

Rosie, a knit stitch cast off is fine Smile

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 15/03/2012 19:40

Evening all :)

Those squares all sound lovely - I'm going to go and do a search and see if Trumpton has hers on her profile :)

tribpot · 15/03/2012 20:03

Rosie, yup, Gleaming's simplified heart is just knit and purl, not a pesky yarn over to be seen anywhere. :)

RedRosie · 15/03/2012 20:56

Will try the heart if I ever finish the moss stitch one... A lot of bringing yarn forward and backward in moss stitch - it grows very slowly. I hope I don't need an extension.

GleamingHeels · 16/03/2012 05:22

Rosie there sure is A lot of bringing yarn forward and backward in moss stitch, but it makes a lovely snuggly square, we're over here if you get stuck with anything and want to join us
