What About Women?

Speakers: Lynne Featherstone, Harriet Harman, Theresa May
Chair: Ceri Goddard

This event was recorded on 27 April 2010 in Old Theatre, Old Building.

Women?s votes will determine the result of this closely fought election and all the parties have mounted a media charm offensive to win their support. But is there any policy substance behind their spin? What would the parties' policies in key areas such as the economy, the family, crime and reforming politics mean for women?s lives and which party would best progress women?s equality and human rights?

I'm listening to this and not finding it awfully helpful (though thanks for link )
We know all the parties have at least one token feminist who knows what the issues are. What I find more enlightening is when women's questions are put to random candidates from all the parties, male or female.
(Am still waiting for replies to my emails to our local 3 re the Object charter....!)

But it has certainly underlined the extent to which despite this allegedly being the Mumsnet election, women's issues have been sidelined.

How strange to see such an old (and pre-me) thread pop up.

I saw the names of all three speakers and did an involuntary groan and eye roll.

What trio! No use at all to womankind.
