Dear all

It gives me ENORMOUS pleasure to let you know that early in 2027, Phoenix Publications will be publishing Sarah Summers memoir (called Being a girl and other dangerous things).

@iamsarah has had an extraordinary life and write beautifully.

Please spread the word far and wide and please visit Phoenix Publications Ltd website for updates and news of how to pre-order.

The book is a blinder!

Best
Jo Phoenix

I don't know who Sarah posted as previously (I could have a wild guess but not confident it's correct) but I am genuinely heartened that she has re-evaluated her position to the point of fighting this awful battle.

I would be interested to hear more about her thought processes, but completely understand why no-one wants to expose usernames that might be used to dox etc.

My thought process was basically this:
We’re all one big happy LGBTQ family
Trans women are women
my pronouns are she / her
Gosh a lot of lesbians are identifying as men
What is all this cis and queer business?
Men wouldn’t pretend to be lesbians, why would they?
Just be kind.
Non-binary is valid
Gosh there are a lot of lesbians who were born male
Why are these lesbians born male obsessed with wearing their mum’s underwear?
No man would pretend to be female to access women’s spaces.
Some men are predatory
AGP is a thing
No man would try and use a woman’s rape crisis service.
Nobody would cross that boundary. That just wouldn’t happen.
Oh.
Those posters on Mumsnet were right.

Scrutinise away. As I said before I’m very happy to DM anyone my list of previous usernames.

You might find some triggering threads about rape but you will mainly find me discussing endometriosis, knee pain, peri menopause and when Sarah Lancashire is next on the telly. Knock yourselves out.

And virtually full time bashing of Posie and any women who supported her at one time, unless you’ve used different email addresses.

Helleofabore · Today 19:08

I don’t believe that posters are mistaking the user name the Sarah has used in the past to berate women on this board. And we have not disclosed this while knowing.

Please do not accuse us of not knowing the history of posting from Sarah, because those making the accusation would be incorrect in that assumption.

Helleofabore · Today 19:15

I know some posters came very close to outing Sarah’s other main user name and didn’t even disclose what they knew while pointing out the hypocrisy of the posting by the established user name.

Again, posters are not mistaken about what has been posted in the past. Particularly not Tinsel.

I love a good conspiracy theory but I really haven’t had the time to bash anyone full time, let alone change usernames to do it.

Posie Parker has publicly criticised my campaign to secure women’s rape crisis therapy in Brighton. I have been critical of some of the things she has said and done when using my old Mumsnet username. I don’t think either of us lose any sleep over it.

Dragonasaurus · Today 19:26

I supported Sarah - we are all Sarah - and I’m also pleased to hear that donations can’t be traced back

i am somewhat surprised/concerned that posters’ different usernames and email addresses seem to be so easily verifiable by Tinsel, Helle and others. Like many others, I change my username to try to ensure personal details can’t be collated across different posts. Are you suggesting that this kind of anonymity isn’t possible here?

Hedgehogforshort · Today 19:29

I believe our well known long timers who don’t change their name. Why wouldn't I.

none of them have ever been nasty or bullied people, by
Sarah’s own admissions.

lots of people (including myself) come on here with er????, be kind, eh what??? show me, explain to me. I went and read. But no abuse.

someone who abuses other people and gets them banned is someone who has a deep problem, not resolved by “switching teams”

i have seen some recent activity from a name changer who does not operate collectively, does not watch others backs, or offer support. Just rants and raves, and picked on me.

it is more than not nice. Given the hostilities IRL especially in the past on here.

glad you saw the truth Sarah but trust is something you earn try doing that.

It’s hardly a conspiracy theory.

I am slightly concerned at the idea that posters can find out others' email addresses.

BucketBoots · Today 19:39

I was at the WPUK meeting which @IamSarah attended as a TRA reporter. She and her friends sniggered at the back and I think she may have also asked a question. They left before the end of the meeting.

She reported at the time either on here or on her blog (it was a really long time ago so I can’t remember details) that she was spat at or similar.

It was an egregious lie. And she was posting on here under multiple accounts.

Many women were banned or sanctioned for questioning this over the years and most of us have kept publicly kept our mouths shut. We’ve heard about the crowdfund for a case that never went to trial, the business venture which has been repeatedly advertised on MN explicitly against the rules (and yes, I know they’re supposed to be about healing women but it is still a business), and now the book.

I’ll probably be banned for this post but I don’t care. If ‘Sarah’ is really coming clean, then she needs to own all the damage she has done properly. ‘I was a TRA and now I’ve seen the light’ doesn’t cut it. Especially not when your wife is still fully on board.

They can’t. Some posters just put 2 and 2 together and get 37.

No, when but people are very lax with their privacy (despite being involved in a court case) and do things such as post exactly the same stories under different names, post simultaneously under both those names, and also stand at the back of WPUK meetings sniggering and then tell lies on here about the meeting afterwards, and then start up a business with a well known scolding soc fem , etc etc, you don’t have to be Miss Marple to work out the bleeding obvious.

Nobody has said anyone could find out anybody’s email address. Of course we cannot.

Edited

I can think of 3 usernames off the top of my head. The most recent is the soc fem one pp are referring to, the other two were her TRA ones.

Emails and usernames aren't available, but you know how posters like the cupboardy one and the flexible one are recognisable even if they change names? And imagine if they talk about where they live, their family set up, things that have happened to them, perhaps even share their blog, then it becomes easy to recognise them through their name changes. When someone is repeatedly combative, dishonest, and is not putting women first in a feminist space, you can't help but take notice of them, and you learn to recognise them through their name changes, even when they have a volte-face.

They can’t. Some posters just put 2 and 2 together and get 37.

Putting two and two together and getting four is also a thing otherwise neither detectives, nor mathematicians would exist.
