Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Do intersex people's views on pronoun use count in sex and gender discussions?

I want to raise a pronoun-related issue which I think has been largely ignored (if it hasn't, I'd be very interested to see where it's been discussed).

I belong to the "I" in the alphabet soup, although given that "Intersex" (i.e. DSDs) is neither an identity nor a sexuality (it is an umbrella term for a range of congenital medical disorders) I don't think it should be included. But that is another matter.

Anyway, given that I am included in the alphabet, I assume I'm allowed a say in how I feel about pronoun usage. (And if not, why not?)

My condition means that I have male chromosomes but am phenotypically female. I do not look (or act) remotely male. If someone were to ask me my pronouns - i.e. imply that it's not fucking obvious by taking one glance at me - I would be both offended and hurt.

So my question is: do the opinions of the other "letters" count on this issue, or is it only the "T" that matters?

I didn't know this - very interesting.

No, clearly it didn't!

If I recall correctly, GIRES wanted the society to share a platform with them on a programme like Panorama, I believe.

The letter they posted detailed exactly how many times GIRES had ignored their refusal. It felt like they were getting pretty desperate, hence the public letter.

This is about eight or ten years ago, but if you have endless patience, you could probably track down the threads on here.

It just goes to show that it was a deliberate targeting of people with DSDs, in order to shore up the ideology.

I can remember being infuriated by it because a woman was talking about the DSD that her child had, how bloody serious it was, and possibly even fatal. And TRAs were using women like her and her child to get men into women's spaces.

I do hope that if Nick Wallis ever does do an exposé, he brings up that little bit of shameful forced teaming.

Op of course you should be respected as a woman in day to day life, competitive sport is tricky and I’m not knowledgeable about your specific situation, it’s also irrelevant for most people anyway as we are not competitive athletes! In fact I respect those who are trans too, what I don’t agree with it the shouty look at me people who try to make life difficult for everyone else. If you physically have the look of a man subtly use the disabled toilet/changing rooms etc. I know many quiet trans people who are living without fanfare here.

subtly use the disabled toilet/changing rooms etc.
But only if they're disabled as well as trans, and need to use the accessible toilet, right?
Not just because they 'feel more comfortable' using the accessible toilet than the one designated for their sex.

I thought the dad families had also rold
Stonewall they didn’t need or want to be lumped in with the TQ+ and were ignored.

you’re right @46XYDSD tour views don’t matter at all to some people. And to others they matter a great deal. I see this online, gender people dismissing the needs of anyone who doesn’t support their made up view of the world . I’m sorry because it much be annoying for you @46XYDSD
