If 65.5% of trans people say they are non-binary how are they trans and why are they bothered by the Supreme Court ruling

IwantToRetire · 01/08/2026 19:05

This figure of 65.5% of trans people saying this is said to come from EU LGBTIQ Survey III.

Which just made me think that if that is the current or even future trend of "trans identity", then the Supreme Court ruling, the GRA, most of the more hardline TRA activities, are just not relevant.

The TRAsy focus on sex and gender being interchangeable. So why is this minority group within a minority group running the agenda to have sex no longer seen as biological.

Not sure of the figures but apparently the largest group within the survey were those who said that they were Lesbian, Gay or Bisexual and that their sex was primary to that identity.

Homosexuality is identifiable and definable, and in some parts of the world punishable by death.
Being non-binary - less so.

Not seeing the relevance of other parts of the world being homophobic as justification for transphobia

I almost feel like a teenager in the 90’s again, when people would lose their shit because other people were homosexual.
’omg think of the children’ ‘it’s self indulgent claptrap’ ‘it infringes my right to be straight because erm, reasons’

Ironically I think by the 90s those people who were out, were usually clearly gay or lesbian because by then a sort of shared dress code had become common. Although for some this might have meant how they dressed at the weekend and not when going to work.

But by and large lesbians and gay men were just getting on with their lives as part of society, and why Gay Liberation marches were deliberate about people dressing "normally" or in their work uniforms to emphasise they are just ordinary people. They weren't out demanding people acknowledge them through some sort of made up code of showing subservience to their being somehow superior beings.

Which didn't mean tv and radio, mainly comedy didn't rely on terrible caricatures to get laughs. And no doubt in some communities prejudice was still overt. Think of Billy Elliot.

The more overt prejudice I heard was that people who were same sex attracted shouldn't be allowed to work with children.

There’s no point expecting any consistency and logic or meaning to terms. It all means exactly what the individual wants it to mean at any given time, except when they want it to mean something else.

Edited

This is such a perfect description of it 😂

Feel free to explain 'trans non-binary' to us.

Why do you need an explanation? Non binary people say they don’t identify with either gender, I don’t need to know or care about the specifics of their beliefs, not sure why anyone does.
I’m not religious and don’t believe there is a god, but it doesn’t mean I go about objecting to others doing so. I wouldn’t have a hope in hell of explaining the specific meanings of the Koran or a Latin bible, but neither do I need anyone to justify the meanings for me to accept those who do believe as equals.

Not me mate, I was out clubbing with my gay friends.

Yeah, me too, alongside spending most of the rest of my time around horses, where it was also more acceptable to be openly gay.
Whilst also wondering why a lot of ‘old’ people my parents age were losing their shit about gay people.
Now as one of those parent aged old people I‘m equally puzzled why anyone would give a fuck about someone else being trans.

That somewhat proves the point we do have an issue with transphobia.
Not that the consequences are the same, but as a straight white woman I don’t feel the need to remove my bra in the street as part of a mass protest about women’s rights, but women in the middle east brave enough to remove hijabs as a protest is proof they do have far greater problems than western women to object to.

Well, it's because we think that many of us may be trans non-binary too. If so, we want to be included in this sort of survey and have our concerns about discrimination, harassment and violence taken seriously.
However, if it turns out that we are not trans non-binary, then we obvs don't want to fuck with the stats. That would mess up all the data and no-one would have a clue about what trans non-binary people actually want or need. Which, I'm sure you accept, would be awful.

AS has been said over and over again. There isn't an transphobia.

What everyone is objecting to is trans colonisation.

Trans people endlessly demanding we, and specficially women bow down to what is in fact the belief system of a tiny minority.

Trans people or rather the TRAs are the full on white missionaries from europe rampaging through Africa etc..

No one gives a shit if some is trans.

But just stop insisting we have to convert to your believe system.

Stop going into schools and misleading children.

Stop invading women only support services.

Stop making your irrational demands,

Just get on with your live but stop pestering people about it because you think you are so important and wonderful that everyone must stop what they are doing and join in your self adoration.

Your comments just show that you dont even accept what women say.

You persist in demanding biological women accept you as women.

Even the law doesn't support that.

There are women (natural because of biology) and legal women a fiction created by having a GRC.

idk, maybe cause these people want to put their non-binary gender as their sex on their legal identification documents? maybe because they are asking for legal protections based on their gender?

also, gender critical people ironically say the same thing, that they don't identify as either gender. funny isn't it, except they aren't claiming a special victim status. i'm more gender non-conforming than many NBs I see, funny af. i just don't need to claim it cause I don't believe in gendered souls.

Hate to burst your bubble but I’m a biological woman, use female pronouns, menstruate and given the obsession of you people with other people’s genitalia can confirm I’ve given birth through mine, so don’t assume I must be trans or have less of a right to my opinion because it doesn’t align with yours.
You aren’t the only voices of what we as women want or care about, and although I might be in the minority here, outside this echo chamber you’re not.
I’ve also not experienced any of those things you claim trans people are supposedly doing.
The trans people I’ve met or know just want to go to Tesco, or for a wee, or enjoy the gig, or get that work report in before the deadline, moan about the weather and otherwise just get on with their lives peacefully.
Perhaps I’ve just been fortunate to avoid trans people trying to sign me up, maybe they don’t do much door to door recruiting in my area.

You mean in the way that every other survey in every other subject consults everyone and provides accurate statistics?

Well, you can't consult everyone in a survey. For a start you have no way of finding everyone, or even knowing when you have found everyone.
However a well-designed survey can give useful statistical information which can be used to help plan policies, for example. Key to that will be a clear definition of the terms that you are using. 'Trans non-binary' is not a term that is readily understood.

And if we want women’s rights protected a load of hyperbole about all trans people is counterproductive.
Do we need laws that prevent male sex offenders escaping their crimes and/or accessing vulnerable women? Absolutely. Should the likes of Ian Huntley be acknowledged as trans women, no, of course bloody not.
We don’t legislate on Muslims based on the Rochdale grooming scandal, nor would any sane person think taking up racism is a reasonable response. But trans and just their existence is apparently unacceptable and one represents all.

It’s not ‘transphobia’ to say that sentences like:

‘I am a non-binary, trans lesbian’

Speaking out against this ridiculous, reductive, damaging ideology isnt ‘phobic’.

The truth and a grasp on reality is more important than the hurty feeling of some grown arse people (usually men, let’s be honest),

tell me please, what makes a transwoman a woman? at what point are they are woman, at what point are they no longer just a normal man who doesn't present a danger to women? they say the words "I am a woman" and aren't a danger anymore? do they have to take the hormones and get the surgeries? how can you tell apart a transwoman, and a man claiming to be a woman just to access women and girl's spaces?

why should people be compelled to lie and participate in someone else's delusion?

why should innate feelings that are all self proclaimed triumph over biological reality?

why have women been so stupid throughout history when they could easily have identified out of their oppression and just said "I'm a man"? or "I don't identify as a woman".

why don't women tell their rapists they aren't women and their vagina isn't female so their rapists back off?
