MoD is still rewriting outdated policy on servicemen who identify as women, leaving troops in limbo

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has been accused of failing female soldiers by refusing to clarify its transgender policies more than a year after the Supreme Court ruling on biological sex

Unbelievable.

Just read this. Utterly appalling.

I just cant believe anyone is still using this case by case argument.

It was never case by case, ie each individual, but the principle of when appropriate eg rape crisis support.

The poison of Stonewall "training" continues.

But it has to be recognised that it is the willingness of so many to believe Stonewall, not only in the past, but now.

As usual, the notion of women having a prior need just does not permeate the minds of so many.

Every day women are insulted by the establishment and they honestly think they are being "good" is saying they will consider the issue.

I don't know if it's capture or inertia but all of the government department and ministries seem to be completely incapable of putting things back to the way they were before this nihilistic and destructive stupidity came along. How much effort can it take to revert to doing things the way they were done for decades.

Why, as a country, are we accommodating people with mental health issues in the armed forces in the first place. Some professional fighting force we've got, if some of those serving can't copy with the reality of who they are, how much use are they going to be at defending the country.

If the brass in the forces really cared about their female recruits you think they'd have dealt with stuff like this

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp316ee2101o

before loading more sexist shit on them.

It's actually unsurprising that they're carrying on with it. The men, all the men, are the focus. I feel like they resent having to employ women at all and, as they have to, they're just playthings, perks, for the part of the service that's important to them. The male part.

Jennifer stands in her uniform as a young woman. She appears to be on base, and wears a white hat with a black rim, and black jacket with a white shirt and a blue collar with white stripes on it. She has red hair and is smiling directly at the camera.

Rape 'accepted way of life' say ex-forces women

The BBC speaks to women who say they were raped while serving in the armed forces.

Women are very badly treated by the armed forces when you think of the sexual abuse and rape cases there have been with no real justice.

It is ironic that they think a precious transwoman soldier must not under any circumstances have to share a private space with an ordinary male soldier, but a real woman serving amongst them must do so.

But, how many transwomen are in the army given you’d think the job might not seem ‘feminine’ enough? Does anyone know?

And, what about transmen ( which makes more sense as a (woman) transman might get chances she never would otherwise ?

So much of this shit comes from the civil servants in the MoD. And as the current Tempest tribunal debacle demonstrates, too many civil servants are unfit for purpose. You'd think, given the world situation, the government might have instructed the armed forces to always follow the law of the land and focus on their role. But given the current (hopefully fading) power of transactivists in government and the civil service, they're still able to continue to indulge their anti women beliefs.

It's the one bad apple analogy. It doesn't matter if the vast majority of CS workers are good, conscientious and hard working, it only takes a couple to spoil the whole barrel. Or at least give the impression that the whole thing is rotten.

That observation, for me, neatly sums up the entire issue.

This isn’t my DDs experience in the forces though men and women do routinely share facilities due to necessity, she says people are if anything over the top protective and ensuring of her wellbeing. Perhaps the army is different?

I very much agree that dealing with actual rapists in the forces should be prioritised before discriminating against trans people to the benefit of no one.

lcakethereforeIam · Today 14:13

I'm very much of the opinion that the brass should have dealt with the problems already caused by the male recruits before allowing them to create additional ones.

This is a Freedom of Information Request 2014 asking how many transgender personnel there are. But basically, in this response anyway, they won’t answer because the law says they are the sex of their acquired gender; and also they have a right to privacy.

I don’t know if there are any more recent FOI requests but this shows how ‘Catch 22’ ish the whole transgender issue evolved to be.

Does anyone know if they are compliant when it comes to the children in the MOD sponsored cadet forces?
